Abbie Luzius

Abbie Luzius, MS

Abbie Luzius is a Certified Health Education Specialist and Certified Tobacco Treatment Specialist. Abbie works as the Community Development Manager at Community Clinic, a local FQHC managing a team that focuses on prevention, education and outreach across the region. Abbie holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Public Health and a Master’s Degree in Community Health Promotion from the University of Arkansas. Abbie is a third-year Ph.D. student studying Health Behaviors and Health Promotion with an emphasis on social determinants of health research and tobacco/e-cigarette research. Abbie has worked with the Center on connecting public health research to the community at large in Northwest Arkansas, including underserved, vulnerable populations. In collaboration with Community Clinic’s Center for Research Education and Outreach (CREO), which Abbie founded, the work between both CREO and the Center will promote the advancement of research, education, and practice across a multidisciplinary team.


Eric Schisler

Eric Schisler, MS

Eric Schisler is a PhD candidate and Graduate Assistant for HHPR. Previously, Eric worked for non-profit organizations in New York that focused on advocacy and education for sexual assault victims and victims of violence. Eric’s research focuses on sexual violence prevention using mixed methods to better understand the role and applicability of bystander intervention in different settings as well as theory application. Eric has also done research internationally in developing countries by helping community health researchers conduct qualitative needs assessments to measure the severity of health problems facing a community and how those impact day-to-day life.
