Call for Faculty Affiliates

As a multidisciplinary research center, the Center for Public Health and Technology (CPHT) invites collaboration with faculty across departments and colleges. Our focus is on cutting-edge research, training and mentoring at all levels, and strong community partnerships. Our Center research incorporates a broad range of health and social issues and cultivates mixed methods, including descriptive, experimental, and interventional approaches.

Broadly, our work aims to add to our understanding of how technologies (think online, digital, social, wearable, among others) promote positive health behaviors and reduce disease burden, as well as examine the challenges associated with technology including the propagation of misinformation and promotion of harmful health behaviors. Community engagement and health equity are also central to our mission.

Our team of CPHT faculty are leaders and experienced collaborators that bring the power of health, big data, community partnerships, and operational resources to bear on Center-affiliated research. We hope you will join us and contribute to our efforts to train the next generation of student researchers and address real-world public health and social issues.

Our goal is for affiliate Faculty to benefit from a variety of resources that support their research and overall career development. Here are a few examples of how this could materialize with the understanding this can evolve and expand as we grow.

  • Research Collaborations: Proposal development, grant/project involvement, help with preparing and editing research proposals, and reviewing abstracts and manuscripts.
  • Methodology Support: Connections to faculty and mentors with expertise in mixed method research, assessment, evaluation, digital data collection, etc.
  • Training and Education: Support developing innovative research approaches, translating research to practice, and research dissemination through proposal development, feedback sessions, and internal scientific review.
  • Community Engagement and Outreach: Assistance in building and engaging a network of key stakeholders, organizations, community members, and research audiences at each stage of the research process.
  • Research Dissemination: Assistance with establishing and growing your professional and research-related online presence including websites and social media.
